I was excited for this one, and I wanted to love it, but it just didn't work for me. Thomasin is great, but it just felt... lacking.

There is a moment when Eileen is really onto something. However, that moment is never fully developed. The idea is so great, but as is, the film as a whole underwhelms.

The Good: Atmosphere, Wardrobe, Set Design Bad: Certain Sexual Elements. Overall: I wanted it to be better than fair but it wasn't. It felt like I was watching parts from previous films that are supposed to be interesting. It just felt trihard.

Thomasin McKenzie is quite good as the eponymous, rather timid, prison secretary who lives a rather pedestrian life watching the couples make out in the car-park, or fantasising about a quickie with one of her colleagues, before returning home to her retired cop/dipso father replete with two bottles More
