This is a quite simple tale that deeply and indirectly delves into how humans are prone to denial when in the face of staggering pain. Diane was a woman who rode her car against the traffic tide, hitting an oncoming car, killing herself, all the passengers in the met vehicle and a slew of her children. As the father struggles with the deaths, the news of Diane's intoxication are released: alcohol and THC. The documentary starts just half a year after the deaths occurred. To me, what "really happened" isn't the interesting stuff, but the denial is; seeing all of the people talk is the thing. It's the journey, not the goal, whatever that would be. Interesting but not well edited; could have been better if the reins were held tighter.

Well, the facts are that she did drink an equivalent of 19 glasses of Vodka AND smoked marijuana. That's a fact. For whatever reason, it doesn't matter. That was a foolish mistake and she is 100% responsible for it. A foolish mistake is from her delusional family who tried so hard to paint her a saint in spite of said facts. She was no saint. This Documentary shouldn't have happened. This is just another case of drunk driving.

Sad documentary about the (known) facts of a tragedy that is hard to explain. Despite every single explanation and with the family coming public, it only showed more evident cracks in the theories presented while trying to convince us (the audience) of an alternative story.

there's no mystery here: it's just a very sad story, and shows the denial stage of grief pretty vividly. the fact is that we don't often think about the witnesses in situations like these. the families experienced horrific tragedy, but at the end when one of the men who pulled the bodies from the wreckage breaks down talking about how he cried, how each time he checked for a pulse there wasn't one, i mean. jesus christ. that poor fucking man. that's indescribable trauma.
