Flash Gordon is an American science fiction television series that debuted on Sci Fi in the United States on August 10, 2007 and continued airing new episodes through February 8, 2008. It has also appeared on the United Kingdom Sci Fi Channel and SPACE in Canada. The series was developed by Peter Hume, who served as executive producer/show runner and wrote the first and last episodes, among others.

We think the main character is not that likable. Sci-fi enemies coming through portals from other worlds = you may as well watch the real "The Flash" tv show, which clearly has newer/better cgi and overall budget etc.

problems = -bad syfy channel acting like Helix or Eureka -the lead character isn't really likable/adorable and just seems like standard cookie-cutter usa-man, so don't care about what happens to him (unlike The Flash) -silly (but still acceptable) out-of-this-world storyline like Smallville, with actors dressed-up in dorky costumes (looks a bit like a high school on-stage drama)

Well, it could have been worse. If you are into things like Xena Warrior Princess or Hercules, then this will be something you should watch. It's a little comedic, a little corny soap opera, a little enjoyable. Where it differs is that Flash Gordon is (horribly loosely) based on the comic. In reality, it is quite a different take on things (and in some ways, ties it all together quite nicely at the end). It won't be for everyone, but overall it kept me amused in a light hearted kind of way.
