"I mean I'll struggle with my review cuz most of what I've felt is hard for me to express with text This documentary was so pure, so loving so emotional and very inspiring I got super attached to the octopus that I felt this sense of being protective over her.. Also every time Craig (the diver) exists water I find myself saying go back go back and check on her This documentary is highly recommended, it's so peaceful and stressful at the same time"

"A powerful and connecting documentary, My Octopus Teacher shows that with perseverance curiosity can make an impossible relationship into a aeon of a lifetime. How the connection with one animal can spread to an awareness of the whole ecosystem as well as a realisation of how one can transpose a deeper understanding of one's own life and change the daily interactions between family, friends and all humans. Shot in the 4K colourspace within the glorious arena of the African Cape are wonderful aerial scenes, combined with underwater studies of a marine biome and the life of a sole cephalopod, My Octopus Teacher is narrated so well that it drives home the need for terrans to contemplate how best we as a species should interact and care for our pale blue dot."

"A beautifully shot, very sweet story about a man and an octopus. There are many "aww" moments as well as some nail-biting moments. It's quite amazing to watch this friendship unfold."
