This was an interesting take on a revenge story. The concept is turned upside down with the antagonist being the sympathetic figure in this film

11:55 is about a soldier returning home to his old neighborhood after a tour of duty only to find that consequences he tried to escape are still waiting for him.

The entire film takes place over the course of one day which doesn't leave much time for character development and this was my biggest issue with 11:55. You don't even really get a sense of the relationships between the characters until you're well into the movie. With such a short amount of time to reach a conclusion there are characters and scenes that felt unnecessary and only stalled the film. The supporting characters could have been better utilized to add more depth to the main character Nelson. Instead his story is told through quick flashbacks and implied conversation. It's like someone is telling you a story where you're supposed to be familiar with these complete strangers and their relationships to each other.

Despite some flaws it is an entertaining film. The acting is great, the relationships felt authentic. It's worth a watch for sure.
