Very disappointed, the biggest problem is that It tries to be a lot of things and fails at most of them. If you're choosing between two movies and this is one of them, choose the other one.

Each movie has a beginning, a middle, and an end. This movie seemed like it had no clear path through this sequence. It was a mish-mash of a trigger happy, aging CIA assassin action hero, mixed with romantic comedy, mixed with... uh... a few other genres that I can't quite put my finger on. On a scale of 'Mind Blowing' to 'Mind Vomit', I give it a solid 'meh'.

I don’t get the hate. Costner is great and the movie is fun. I learned not to take McG movies seriously or expect greatness.
The father and daughter stuff hold it back a little. Since it’s so cliche. A father that was barely around teaching his daughter to ride a bike and to dance. Almost feels like I’ve seen it in every movie.

What. The. Hell. Was. That.

First of all: The Genre is wrong. Trakt gave it these genre tags: "Action, Crime, Drama, Thriller". But the first one should be 'Comedy'. This is what this movie is about. Comedy. All dramatic plot-parts are combined with the Comedy-Part.

But even if did know that this Comedy Part is there, the movie is still bad.

Kevin acts....fine. But this overall us-american-stereotyped family conflicts is just pure eye-rolling. Jesus Christ. Luc Besson, stop writing. Please! This makes my head ache!

Okay, to be honest: I did not know that Luc Besson was involved. I just noticed it afterwards. But what worked with "The Transporter" and the "LiamNesson-Kickass" Movies, does not work here anymore.

This is the most stereotyped movie i watched the past 5 years.

3/10

I enjoyed this. Yes, a little mixed up, but its heart was in the right place and it ticked along nicely. I am surprised with Kevin's fighting skills and he still has great on-screen presence. Good solid action sequences, a sprinkle of fun and some genuine tender moments, make this worth watching.

The biggest issue that I have with this movie is its constant back and forth between Action and (Teenie-Trash) Comedy. That on its own isn't bad when done right but it isn't done right with this movie. It makes you question what this movie actually wants to be.
It isn't a good Action movie and it isn't a good Comedy. It is somewhere in between, it is a fair attempt but lacks the ingenuity in writing to handle the told story in a satisfactory manner.

The comedic "reliefs" between action scenes feel quite out of place. Torturing some guy and in between asking him for fatherly advice? Works once - if at all, after that it becomes dull and plain stupid. Trash comedy level like. But it's done several times as if the writers didn't know what to do or how to explore this agent who struggles with his disease, (secret) job and raising his daughter all at the same time in the movie's strict timespan.
That is sad because Kevin Costner plays the badass agent really well but that gets undermined with the cringeworthy comedy. With all what's going on here there's not enough time to explore and explain all what is happening.
The end itself is a disappointing resolve to an otherwise not new but decent story.

6/10 is probably good enough for a friday evening but shouldn't be the first choice after all.

Although I have the strong opinion that McG should not a have a job in film making I do like this movie very much. I credit this to producer Luc Besson and leads Costner and Heard more than anything else. Costner gives this movie a humanity which most of these kind of films lack. The interaction between him and Hailee Steinfeld are especially touching and display more chemistry than for example Liam Neeson and his daughter in Taken. Even though this was marketed as a shoot em up action movie it is really about the father/daughter relationship. It is those quiet moments where 3 days to kill shines bright. Amber Heard being an absolute babe with a gun doesn't hurt much either. It's a strong 7 out of 10 for me. Highly entertaining and refreshing.

that poor guy didn't have the chance to keep his suits for a day! other than that this movie wasn't as u expect it from Trailers.....and what's up with Vivi ordering him to kill that Wolf, and flashbacks and stuff like to show he wants a normal life, seriously ur last mission u thought of that, why u didn't think of that for 1000 missions before. and on top of that her dad is killing people and u can feel things building up and then they show his daughter having a romantic kissing her bf after her dad told her not to, like what supposed to mean. this director is like a child figuring out how to work Photoshop!... and Vivi from the agency nerd with horrible clothes choice to this hot chick and cool car and a weird habit of watching people from Up, seriously UP

Costner makes the most of what he is given in this very Luc Besson-esque movie.
