Even away from Charming, Bobby Elvis is still a tough S.O.B.! Anyway this Josh Hartnett in the lead vampire flick is a fun Action Horror film. Loved the concept, some of the kills, the pace and the ending.

I also liked the way the vampires were portrayed and that no one looked any dirtier after all those days spent in hiding! I also appreciated the plan the vampires had by hunting in a town were they basically had 30 days to clean it out. But I have a feeling that they didn't count on those meddling kids and Bobby Elvis!

30 Days of Night is a film that will entertain you with some great horror action.

Started strong but it fell off as it went on and devolved. The vampires were cool but the story went from bad to worse and the ending was awful.

Disappointing. Had me bored for the most part, wasn't even scary, and the screeches the vampire-like creatures made was also obnoxious.

In my opinion, vampire movies are almost never scary, and the only reason I have to qualify that comment with the word "almost" is because of 30 Days of Night. It is the only vampire movie that is genuinely scary, and stands as one of the best vampire movies period. It does have the common issue of the vampires randomly being slower and weaker when fighting with our heroes, but other than that everything else is solid. This movie is an easy recommend for anyone who likes vampire movies or horror, and still good for everyone else.

I watched this in a movie theater and it was enthralling. One of the most exciting movies depicting vampires you’ll ever see. It’s not without its faults. Ahem…ship. I really enjoyed the tension, jump scares, location, atmosphere, acting (jail boy not withstanding), and the sacrificial end. Enjoy!

Film 35 (Goal: 300) of 2024

I can see why people really like this. It's a vampire film, held in unique setting, with a great concept. And while the film revels in it's patience, putting the residents of the small town into a game of cat-and-mouse against the thing that is hunting them, I still feel the core premise could have been used to better effect. The film is gory and violent, and this is where it greatly succeeds.

Josh Hartnett continues to prove what an underrated talent he is, despite Hollywood trying briefly to make him the new "It guy". Melissa George should have been in more. Ben Foster has a memorable role, that I could see viewers being on the fence about.

Based on a comic book series, _30 Days of Night_ is a horrifying vampire film with a unique vision. The story follows a remote Alaskan town that is laid siege to by a clan of vampires during a 30 day period when the town passes into complete darkness. Josh Hartnett and Melissa George lead the cast and give strong performances. Additionally, the film's animalistic and visceral depiction of vampires is especially terrifying. However, the storytelling is weak and the gore becomes a bit excessive at times. Still, _30 Days of Night_ is an impressive thriller with a bold vision and intense action.

Rather a unique take on the Vampire tale and I appreciate the mystery surrounding the killer blood suckers. I found it a interesting way that they spoke an ancient language which even with subs on it gives you fcuk all to what they are actually saying to which I found fascinating
(for this movie).
I loved the gore that was shown and this movie was not afraid to get the kids in on the horror of the situation, so we get a
6,7 year old Vampire girl caught and killed during feeding with a good old decapitation but they won't show a 70 year old man with dementia get killed,
Okay then lol.
Look as this movie aged well...no is it still worth a watch...certainly,
Especially through the month of October like I did as part as my 31 days of Horror movie viewing.
Also I get the amazing
Beautiful
Melissa George
in this movie so it was always going to be a double Thumbs
up from me.

I liked this until the last 30 minutes or so. The vampires were above average on the "scary" meter, but I think it was because they had piranha teeth and didn't speak English. Unless I missed something, nothing was revealed about where the vampires' came from or if they survived. That unknown made them more interesting.

The last act of the movie is really bloody and violent. I have never seen such a brutal decapitation before...three hacks with an axe. It was excessive and totally took me out of the story. The sunrise scene was awfully corny for a movie that just got done showing me a head hanging from the shoulders by nothing but skin. I don't think the gore loving moviegoers care much for tragically romantic sunrises.

I did like the isolation and it did feel a little "The Thing"-like on that level, which is a plus. I'll have to say I enjoyed at least the first half.

One of my favourite movies and one of the few where I actually care whether the characters live or die. All too often a horror movie is filled with obnoxious people you can't wait to be killed. This one is different. The moment where Eben's brother is forced to use the axe in the shop is heartbreaking. The atmosphere is suffocating and the cinematography is beautiful. I really love this movie.

>"There is no escape. No hope. Only hunger and pain."

This is one of the most brutal and cinematic vampire films out there. As I started I kept asking why this didn't get much praise when it came out. There are things that are really good: the main leads, the atmosphere, the premise... the only things that bugged me is that it supposed to spread out over 30 days but felt like it was 1-2 days.

Interesting twist to an ages-old story. The vampires were unique, and there were some "jump scares" throughout the movie that kept you guessing. Some loose ends, though, that I didn't understand or maybe I just slept through them. I don't know... I felt like it was an okay movie that could have been tightened up in some areas but what do I know? I think the premise was there to be an incredible vampire story but the movie just seemed to slow to a crawl in too many spots and then there would be seemingly this incredible burst of activity crammed into about 120-second span before it slowed way back down. I'd like to see the overall "action" spread more evenly throughout the movie instead of the short little bursts. For that reason, it had problems keeping my attention; I kept checking my phone for updates, etc. Kind of an interesting twist there at the end but the concluding scene was very vague. I can't give this more than a "Fair" rating but I would say it's worth watching once. Not sure how the sequels will play out...

Large amount of gore. Graphic. Not a very good story. 2 hours of predictable 'plot'.
Not worth my time.

I really liked this movie. Unfortunately, Danny Huston played a bit wooden and, for me at least, not scary at all. I liked that they spoke some ancient language. Underrated vampire movie for sure.
