Jim Carrey does a good Scrooge but him doing all the ghosts is a little much. His face on the ghost of Christmas past was a little distracting. Overall the movie is so-so, I'm not a huge fan of the Charles Dickens story though.

Jim Carrey as Scrooge isn't bad. As the 3 ghosts is a distraction though.

Some scenes in my opinion are a bit boring, especially during the coming of the Ghost of Christmas Future. However, this does not mean that it is not a good transposition of the classic.

A classic movie reimagined by Disney. I enjoyed the style of this movie
and enjoy watching it during Christmas even if it isn't the original.

A tale almost as old as time itself, one that is arguably overtold. However, this 'A Christmas Carol' is a good retelling of Charles Dickens' work.

Jim Carrey isn't necessarily firing on all cylinders, but is entertaining enough as Scrooge. Gary Oldman (Bob) and Colin Firth (Fred) are welcomed members of the voice cast, also.

I quite like the tone of the film, as well as the design of the animation - which isn't amazing, some parts look like what you'd see in a video game, but it works well to set up the ambience of the London surroundings.

There's good music from Alan Silvestri, too. Overall, I'd recommend it - admittedly I do enjoy the story of Ebenezer a lot.

That the snow looks good in 3D. The film has been good although sometimes Jim Carrey plays Jim Carrey and in the end he runs a lot

Though it’s one of the most adapted literary works, Disney’s A Christmas Carol delivers a uniquely daring and bold vision that emphasizes the darker aspects of the story. Yet even with the darker take, the film stays remarkably faithful to the novel; especial in regards to the dialog. In fact, this adaption includes several aspects of Dickens’ tale that are often overlooked; such as the religious undertones. However, the animation style doesn’t really work, and is inconstant in the level of depth and detail in the art design. But despite the production shortcomings, Disney’s A Christmas Carol still manages to be an incredibly compelling and imaginative telling of Charles Dickens’ immoral classic.

For a couple of years now I try to watch Dickens _A Christmas Carol_ every year at christmas. Not always the same version because there are many to choose from.
I didn't expect much from this when I read Jim Carey because, to be blunt, I am no friend at all of his type of acting. So I was pleasently surprised from this. The story itself is beyond doubt for me. I don't share the negative views of other comments (althought I respect them, of course). The animation looks great and was in no way distracting or an abomination. It really made me feel, again, the thing that is most important at christmas. To give and not to take and to be with the ones who matter most in our lives.
I will keep this version on my christmas watchlist.

'Bad' does not even come close - this is pure torture. Christmas Carol is not my favourite book, but it certainly has potential to be made into a sort of seasonal 'classic' film with others like Miracle on 31st St and Home Alone. Jim Carey has all the subtlety of a freight train, and most of the time I'm pretty sure he isn't even acting. The visuals are an animation abomination. Most of the cinematography is designed with nothing but the 3D gimmick in mind, and so characters regularly extend their hands and faces into the foreground where little kids surely would have been amazed when they saw this back in 2009.

I've never seen other Christmas Carol adaptations and I don't need to because this is the definitive Christmas Carol for me! It's so fantastic and there is that sort of nostalgia I have with the film. Although it's not advertised as a horror film, it pretty much is if you've seen it. I remember watching it the first time as a kid and had trouble sleeping and was scared to go to the bathroom for weeks because how devastatingly creepy it was. Even too scary for its target audience. It gives me such a strange feeling every time I watch it that no other film does. It's stunningly animated, the visuals are truly dazzling, the human characters are realistic and very convincing. Definitely one of my favorite films to watch during Christmas holidays.

This is a Christmas Carol adaptation I have always wanted to watch, but something has always got in the way when I have tried to and stopped me. And after having finally watched it since having been desperate to see it since I was 13, it did not disappoint.

It's a surprisingly more dramatic telling of A Christmas Carol than I expected, and I would have liked to have seen more of Robert Zemeckis's trademark humour, but this version to me is a very fun and enjoyable adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic.

Jim Carrey is absolutely fantastic in the titular role of Scrooge. He is so perfectly cast, and such a natural in the part, that I don't think Disney could have got the casting much better.

And the animation is absolutely stunning!

There are odd moments before the ghosts arrive where the lighting is a bit too dark, and it's hard to see anything, but for the most part it's stunningly animated. The human characters are a bit like those in The Polar Express; extremely realistic, and very convincing; almost like real people have literally been converted into CGI models.

Why call 'The Exorcist' the scariest horror ever made when Robert Zemeckis 'A Christmas Carol' exist.

Season's greetings from hell!

One of the most ugliest and horrifying Christmas movies out there. However, I respect it in some strange way. There's nothing like it. It's weirdly in the same vein as Tom Hooper's horror masterpiece 'Cats', in terms of CGI and having an identity crisis.
