Way better than the first one! Even if the plot wasn't big deal the story was very solid, focusing not only in the dog but his partner.

I cried and I cried..... this movie hit me right in the heart.... sure it’s not the greatest movie out there but if you own or have owned a dog you’ll understand what I’m saying.

Stronger than it's predecessor, with more focus and a solid story. Nothing incredible, but it works well enough for a dog movie and Dennis Quaid is always a treat. 3/5

Is it better than the first one? Yes, marginally. Is there anything that makes it stand above the typically dog centered film? Not at all. If you like these movies, I’m sure you will like this one and tear up. If you don’t, likely skip it.

Rating: 2.5/5 - 7/10 - Worth Watching

An extremely good movie, it is very emotional (there are 100% chances to cry), a very beautiful story, those puppies were very cute and beautiful, but the story is very interesting and I know I said, it is also very beautiful.
I would have given more than 10 stars.

As with the first movie, this is designed to pull at your heart strings and wring out your tears. Not only do we have a dying dog ad infinitum to contend with, but we also have neglectful parents, cancer, and human death to deal with too. It's very manipulative, although despite my efforts to resist its emotional recklessness, I did tear up occasionally.

Definitely a worthy sequel to "A Dog's Purpose." In fact, I think I enjoyed it even more than the first film. I did miss Peggy Lipton, though.

What a cute sequel to the first film. I felt like this one had much more of a storyline to do with the people surrounding the dog's life. A few heartbreaking moments but mostly a very sweet film.
