I'm in tears. One of the most moving and powerful movies I've ever seen. Many people don't understand this film because of the slow pace. But the patience watchers will be rewarded with a touching story.

Poetic. We're all a little meaningless. Life is waiting and then we die.

I have been wanting to watch A Ghost Story for the past month, so when my local theater started showing it a week ago as part of its Indie lineup, I couldn't wait. And I get why it has a 91% on RottenTomatoes and lots of positive reviews and all that but... man, is it a boring movie.

I get that it is a well-made with great editing, direction and some amazing long single-shot scenes. I get the poetic message that it is trying to send, and it does a good job with that. However, I just can't get over the fact that the entire movie is incredibly boring. I honestly could not wait for this movie to finish (which is tough to do with a movie that is less than 90 minutes long).

Imo don't watch this in theaters. Wait for it to come out on home video. At least you can fast-forward at home...

@deanzel That's because you've never edited a movie. Because if you did, you would know that the same scene, with a different lenght and a different cut, gives a different feeling to the audience. And those scenes are of the exact duration needed for you to feel the right emotion. No film is meant to be "fast forwarded". You either watch it, or you don't.

@allori No, I know and appreciate the direction, editing and cinematography in the movie. It's one of the first things that I mention especially with some of the fantastic long single-shot scenes. That doesn't keep it from being boring. And it's a little bit more of a pain when you've paid $15 and driven out to go watch the movie in theater rather than you just downloading a pirated version of the film...

Haunting and sad, this is a powerful piece, and like the ghost at the heart of the story, this is sure to stay with me for a long time to come.

One of my favorite movies of the year.  While this film obviously isn't for everyone it tried something incredibly ambitious and for many of us it really really worked.  It's just so nice to see something that is as visceral as this film.   I wish more projects like this could be made.

Watching someone eat a bowl of cereal for 20 minutes was ridiculous and pointless

Beautiful work of art and poetry. It truly is a ghost story, with incredibly artful and aesthetic still shots especially in the first 2/3 of the movie. Each and every one was a piece of art. Thoroughly enjoyable.
We really hadn’t expected for it to hit so hard toward the end though. Sad and nihilistic was fine. Somehow they topped that.
Well that was a very heartwarming gripping deep tale with some good creative effects for the picture. I'm not normally a fan of a film with a lack of dialogue but this one really did speak to me through It's creative body language actions and It's left me mind blown.

Beautiful allegory about how difficult to depart from this world and leave behind the old life of ours. There is usually something unfinished business remains, which impede us to move on peacefully.

"We build our legacy piece by piece and maybe the whole world will remember you or maybe just a couple of people, but you do what you can to make sure you're still around after you're gone".

A Ghost Story is a simple and yet puzzling story upon looking deeper into it's roots. Everything from great acting, directing, cinematography and excellent framing.

Can be described as a fascinating piece of art, that if I told you it's the same director of "Peter's Dragon", you'll think it's a joke. A little bit too obvious with the main message. The whole thing is still emotional moving though.

I can see why some may think this is pretentious, but it did something that's so close to our thoughts and isn't at all shallow. However, the middle part literally explains the meaning of the story by a certain character. But strangely what that character said was pretty thought-provoking. It's the best/worst scene of the film.

Oh and the 5 minute pie scene made hungry. Was it chocolate? Because I want some.

Have heard so many great things about this film. Awaiting to watch with friends. Look fuckin spooky! Is very slow. Is very long. It will haunt you in the fact that it keeps you thinking about this movie for days and days after. Very deep.
