No, no, no, what did they do to Freddy?! He was so serious and terrifying in the first two movies. Now he cracks jokes and drops the worst puns. What did you do to a legendary horror icon?!

They replace Patrica Arquette and then they kill her and everyone else from the previous movie. It just seems like nothing important happened. Some decent dreams but not the best.

I knew the acting was gonna be bad but I didn't expect it to be this atrocious. Alice got the personality as a wet napkin.

From memories as a kid in the 80’s the first three were all 10/10 and this one 9/10. After rewatching them all, the first three are still 10/10, but this one is barely now 4/10. Nowhere near as exciting as the first three. I hope when I watch the next one it surpasses this or I’ll give up!

>*"Rest in hell!"*

Takes a good 17 minutes before we see anything interesting but what a glorious return for Freddy! Because the characters carry over from the previous entry, they do feel more fleshed out. The ensemble "teen" cast gives off *Scream* vibes. The absolute best scene of the movie involves an insect and some impressive practical effects. I liked the junkyard scene at the beginning and the Freddy Kruger vs. Karate Kid camp overload of a battle that was hilarious. There's definitely some high moments but the movie could have used a lot more of them (compared to *Dream Warriors*) I spent most of it being a little bored with the story. Good ending.

The last 5 minutes are an incredible showcase of the dark imagery that is the series' strength. Everything else is abysmal.

In the absence of Wes Craven the series starts to derail once again in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. In this chapter Freddy Krueger is resurrected and seeks out the Elm Street children that escaped from him during his last reign of terror. Unfortunately, the writing is rather poor and does a disservice to the characters and to the overarching story of the series. However, the dreams and the kills remain quite imaginative and entertaining. A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master continues the thrills and the chills, but it’s not as fresh or as well-written as previous installments.

I got about 40 minutes in before I stopped watching, this movie heavily detracts from the first few and unlike most horror movies where the sequels get a bit silly but campy, this one is just down right terrible.

Practically the film of young people who are called in to dreams to try to defend against Freddy .

Spoiler :
( But in vain , because eventually die almost everyone except one . )

Log in dreams also who was not named , random , and dies . So far the worst of the series. Freddy talks too much and does not at all fear / anxiety .

Occasionally just plain gross. Like girls turned into cockroaches and crushed, faces on pepperoni..., you get the point.
Though it is way way better than part 2. Which my cable box gives *** and this ** ?? I really enjoy this one despite, yeah gross moments.

The opening set the tone for the movie.. kill of all the existing cast from Part 3, and ruin all the hard work done. I actually enjoyed part 2 more so than I did this (as Part 2 gets heaps of criticism).. there was more kills and better dreams in this, none were ever gonna be as good as the original but for me so far it’s the poorest of the franchise.

>"How's this for a wet dream?"

Ok now I am starting to get worried. First big change is that Patricia Arquette is now replaced and the magic just isn’t there. Freddy is still fun, but I didn’t feel near as entertained in this one.
