I don’t have energy to complain anymore. I'm tired of repeating the same problems over and over again. I’ll just state that there is simply no coherence with absolutely anything.

Alice is more likeable now, at least. That’s an upgrade. I’d just like to suggest her to stop saying to everyone she meets that Freddy is back and that he’s going to kill her and her baby. C'mon Alice, you’ve experienced this situation several times. If they don’t want to believe in you, there's no point trying it incessantly. You'll only make things worse with them sending you to an asylum.

The special effects and Robert England are super good as usual. Freddy's costumes and expressions are pretty fun.

I enjoyed the killings, they're remarkable. Greta's death was crazy. Watching what Freddy was doing to her was disgusting and unsettling. Her bitch mom wasn't a torment enough, poor girl.

Really liked Mark's death. Really creative and fresh, it envolves comics and a different perspective. It doesn’t make much sense how the character fall asleep though. I guess Alice's baby has some power or something like that making this possible, I'm not even gonna try to understand.

The other friend of Alice, Yvonne, is super annoying. I was begging to Freddy kill her, which sadly did not happen.
She helps Alice in a mysterious way to defeat Freddy. Discovering what no one else could in ten seconds, Freddy's mom's place of death I guess. Then, Freddy's mom helps Alice in a way my mind cannot assimilate.

Freddy's reborning was kinda meaningless as well. But I can live with that, it was better than the ending at least.

At this point I’m not concerned about logic anymore. I don’t know if Freddy can attack anyone, whether they’re sleeping or not, if he can magically use Alice's baby to make others dreaming while awake or not. Or people are just dumb and sleep in a blink of an eye. This is too much for me.

This one was just ok. For some reason the kid in this movie just bothered me. Yea he looked scary but he was a bad actor. The movie itself would have been better with a different actor or just cut him out altogether.

Kids... always a disappointment.

*** This review contains an implied spoiler in last paragraph ***

By the time A Nightmare on Elm Street had rolled around to this, part five, Freddy Krueger had long stopped being a scary bogeyman. He was now a figure of fun, a purveyor of one line quips, while the makers were desperately trying to come up with new ideas in which to have the pizza faced Krueger still exist, and thus have more films for him to be in...

Here we are sold the idea that a foetus can dream, so not only do we get a horror staple of sex being bad for you, but it lets Freddy (Robert Englund) back in the fold - in this another garbled screenplay. Cue friends of the pregnant Alice Johnson (Lisa Wilcox) being stalked and offed by the old stinky green and red jumper killer.

It's all very frenetic and cartoonish, with gore replacing scares. There's a little ingenuity with some of the kills, such as a comic book section that has a good thought process, but once the laughable finale arrives - cuz - like - love conquers all - then you may be digging out parts 1 & 3 to remind yourself how good this series used to be. 5/10
