Beautiful story with beautiful scenography. Reminds me a lot of Tim Burton's style..

Pretty charming. Stylish. It doesn't bring much more (at least for me).

Funny, clever & very fresh ideas make this a highly entertaining watch.

Finally getting to see this movie again, I forgot how many good things were in this. I was especially surprised at how convincing the child actors were in their roles. I thought Jim Carrey could be annoying at times, but it's actually not a bad adaptation like everyone makes it out to be. Definitely better than Nickelodeon's other movies based on books.

Dark, twisted, eccentric kids' fare that throws enough bones to the parents for all to have a good time. Loaded up with surprise cameos, it's still quite clearly Jim Carrey's show and he dives in with typical reckless abandon. Throwing back to his early days on In Living Color, Carrey dons half a dozen ridiculous, over-the-top disguises in his ongoing pursuit of the three young, crafty protagonists. Oddly enough, his primary role as the sadistic actor Count Olaf is the least entertaining of the bunch. Even still, his work breathes further life into a film that was already bubbling over with the stuff.

With a Burton-esque sense of humor, a rich, vibrant plot that never seems to take a break and some grand, convincing special effects, it's a gothic fairy tale with a little something for everybody.

i was really looking foward to the series on netflix but got severely disappointed

A great film, with an extremely captivating story and exceptional performances, with emphasis on Jim Carrey's fantastic performance. The scenery and costumes are incredible, adding to the experience. In short, I highly recommend watching this film.

As I have said about so many books that are made into movies...the book is sooo much better. In this case books because they chose to cram several books into one movie so as a viewer you lose out big time. It was okay. I didn't like Jim Carrey in this role either. #ASeriesOfUnfortunateEvents #movie

Jim is the most versatil actor

Nice movie. However the books are far better!!
