Excellent cinematography coupled with a gripping performance by Wilde. That is where the praise ends, as much of the supporting cast is just that - supporting. There is no work put in from anyone else to what would otherwise be a strong film.

Olivia Wilde is great, the rest of the movie was needlessly slow adding no suspense or emotion. Without lingering shots, this would've easily been under 80-minutes. Shame that a great performance was wasted.

It starts on an original idea. Wilde is employed by victims of domestic violence so they can flee. Though following the exact schema of Drive, her work is actually only seen in the intro scene plus a small reminder later in the movie. Too bad as it was the one original thing of this movie. It would have ben nice to see more of that and focus on it.

Otherwise there are a few support group scenes with women exposing what they've been through, more in a testimony like form than a real part of the story. Some flashbacks expose her story, no surprise she was a victim too.

Wilde's performance is good, mostly in showing how damaged and disturbed her past and her new way of life left her.

The down side for me is that the main part of the story is
her husband being back and her becoming the prey
. This is meant as a kind of turnaround in the story but it doesn't actually work because it then becomes exactly like every other movie of this kind and the whole originality is gone. More of her being badass on the dominant side is what we wanted to see.

Big negative points for the final confrontation not even being even shown. Why would you do that ?
