Company commander Claus Michael Pedersen and his men are stationed in Helmand, Afghanistan. Meanwhile back in Denmark, with a husband at war and three children missing their father, everyday life is a struggle for Claus' wife Maria. During a routine mission, the soldiers are caught in heavy Taliban crossfire. In order to save his men, Claus makes a decision that ultimately sees him return to Denmark accused of a war crime.

Kirgen is really good, I kind of liked the way the film is presented with this documentary approach sometimes, it's not always about war but about its consequences and Pilou Asbæk is fabulous, he was great in A Hijacking and he still is. Afghanistan (Turkey) scenes were incredibly immersives, knowing about the fact that some of the actors are real soldiers makes the movie most authentic. As well, I don't get why the movie is so low-rated, cinema isn't always american blockbusters, Tobias Lindholm is a really good danish director.
