Incredible!
Writting a film about yourself writting a film!? Charlie Kaufman is a genius! Certainly one of the most original screenwriters!
All of the actors gave fantastic performances. Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper are great but Nicolas Cage shines! That man just needs find more good stories and characters to star in!
It's so crazy, so clever and beautiful at the same time.
I'm getting some trouble about what to write more about this film without spoiling much.
If you haven't seen it yet do it!

I came to write that the end was off but thinking about It, it started getting weird right after his brother arrived at NY and started helping him with the end.
As Donald's said his genre was Thriller, só the movie did a turn and started with a lot of things that we didnt saw comming like spying on Susan, the affair, car chasing, drug using, deaths and so on.
I think It was meant to be interpreted that way, If so I'll give It a 9/10

plodding and dull but I was a kid at the time. There's a lot I probably didn't get back then.

Incredible movie. I really wish those that think of low budget, netflix 'B' movies when they see Nicolas Cages name would see this film. He still had it, he still has it, and always will have it. He just needs someone like Spike Jonze, and a vessel like Charlie Kaufman to bring it out.

what an incredible, original film. Nicolas Cage did a fabulous job in this role. I loved the progression of the film, and how the story intertwines with the book. Truly an original movie, in a era of repeats.

Did Kaufman's brother Donald help Charlie by writing the end of the screenplay? I guess we'll never know

The following quote appears at the very end of the credits, and (in case you didn't, already) I think you all should see it:

>"We're all one thing, Lieutenant. That's what I've come to realize. Like cells in a body. 'Cept we can't see the body. The way fish can't see the ocean. And so we envy each other. Hurt each other. Hate each other. How silly is that? A heart cell hating a lung cell." - Cassie from THE THREE

First two thirds of this film were fantastic, but let down by the final third unfortunately.

What's the better that Nick Cage? Two Nick Cage!

The craft and complexity of this plot left me quite often lost and confused, only to then realize that everything intersect and converges in a masterful way.

Realizing that the movie is about the process of writing the movie itself blew my mind and left me with the appreciation of that trickery.

This movie was so close to being a masterpiece for me. Nicolas Cage's dual performance is absolutely top tier. The meta storytelling and humor stands in a league of its own, setting the bar for creativity. The writing is equal parts hilarious, clever, and poignant. So, with so much going for it, what stops it from being a masterpiece? Well, despite the movie itself expressing the importance of the third act, the ending here fell quite flat for me. It felt rushed and at odds with everything that came before it. Now, some of that was no doubt intentional, as there was dialogue earlier in the film that foreshadowed elements of the ending. Unfortunately, intentional or not, it didn't work for me. That said, the positives far outweigh the lackluster finale. As an aspiring screenwriter, it was an absolute pleasure to get even a small, fictionalized window into the mind and process of a professional writer such as Charlie Kaufman.

Charlie ought to have listened to the advice of McKee. Weak ending. Narrative lacked clarity,
I knew it was a movie within a movie but either they tried hard to mask it or lacked effort in showing it for what its worth.
Only redeeming factor - Nicholas Cage's double role, Meryl Streep and Chris's acting. Boring watch!

Adaptation of Susan Orlean’s “The Orchid Thief” by Charlie Kaufman, in which Charlie Kaufman (Nicolas Cage) struggles to adapt Susan Orlean’s “The Orchid Thief” while his brother and improvised screenwriter Donald (also Nicolas Cage) is having a much easier time. Surely self-indulgent but, unlike Kaufman’s later works, remarkably self-aware and enjoyable throughout. Interesting how Charlie’s movie (brainy and conceptual) morphs into Donald’s movie (a clichéd thriller) as his character becomes more prominent, even though I preferred the former.
