[Atlántida FF] This journey takes the path of messy teenage love. Her insanity is coupled with his obsession, possibly another form of insanity. She lives in a parallel reality, but he also lets himself be dragged away by the current. It is another reflection of that "amour fou" by the director of "Alléluia" (Fabrice Du Weltz, 2014). Although here it runs out in its development too soon.

On paper, this story of a young man who falls for a patient at the asylum where his mother works is a page torn from my youth. On the screen, however, it's like dinner conversation with me: it keeps getting worse and more disappointing the longer it lasts.

My main complaint is the exclusive use of a hand-cam by a camera man with Parkinson's who drinks too much coffee because watching this movie is like watching an episode of Dawson's Creek on your phone while riding a roller-coaster. Sure, it's annoying but at times it's also unwatchable.

Sinister and haunting survival horror drama addressing issues such as mental illness, obsession, and the sudden loss of innocence. Quite surprised of how things become darker as the film goes yet the picture looks so bright and pleasing throughout. With its breathaking cinematography and immersive sound, it immediately draws you into this fantasy world. The child acting in this film is phenomenal. Those two leads give such exceptional and naturalistic performances.
