It's a solid movie. I liked the survival aspect much more than the romance. Shailene Woodley is great here. The editing between the two timelines was interesting and I thought worked well. The pacing was great, it didn't drag too much and didn't last too long. The cinematography on the boat scenes was really good especially the wreck itself.

Well, I'm left feeling conflicted after watching the movie.

I didn't feel like Shailene and Sam had much chemistry, and the dialogue during their first few interactions was so cringey it made me low key uncomfortable. But by the middle of it, I was invested and wanted them to be okay, even though I was beginning to figure out
Richard was probably just a hallucination and that he'd actually died. The food and water lasting as long as they apparently did was a big clue, and also the fact he seemed to be bleeding internally, and still, after more than two weeks he was, somehow, still alive.
By the point Tami let him go it was already pretty obvious he'd never been there in the first place, but it was still really heartbreaking
.

I'm honestly incredibly impressed with the real life Tami. I couldn't imagine going through something like that and surviving and then ever setting foot on a boat ever again. She's truly a remarkable, resilient and fearless woman. Wow.

I enjoyed this movie. The acting was superb, the writing was imaginative and captivating. The story is not quick paced but allowed the narrative to breath and flesh out the human experiences, so maybe not the best choice for action movie fans. As it is a story based on actual events, I found the exploration of human tenacity to be interesting. I give this movie a 7 (good) out of 10. [Thriller, Romance, Adventure]

Alright so I feel like this movie has managed to hit its mark but the flashbacks after the plot twist is revealed were unneeded you dont need to spoonfeed the audience everything. Other than that remark the acting was good, the chemistry couldve been better.

Woodley and Claflin are left adrift by the weak and abbreviated script. I was never truly invested in the characters or their relationship, and so while I mean no disrespect to the real-life people on whom the story is based, I didn't care whether they lived or died in the movie.

_Adrift_ is a good movie that delivers a compelling survival story with a solid performance from its actors. However, the plot may seem familiar to those who have seen similar films in the genre lately. Despite this, the movie manages to keep you engaged and invested in the characters' journey. One of the highlights is the cinematography that captures the beauty and danger of the ocean. The film's visuals are impressive and effectively convey the sense of isolation and vulnerability that the characters face.
