honestly not that bad for a netflix horror. with each movie in this genre though the concept gets a little less scary - and then i remember the real life versions of events like these and want to live in a panic room for the rest of my life. so it's pretty evergreen in that regard.

also, once you've watched the movie, look up the kathy rowe case - thats what the true events card at the beginning is referring to. but THEN, also look up the otto sanhuber case. this movie combines both of those - and pretty well, tbh.

One of my recent fav horror/thrillers as this film follows a young couple who are struggling with their marriage whom decide on a whim knowingly buy a house below market due to a gruesome murder that happened there in order to hopefully help rekindle their marriage. But immediately the wife notices strange spooky things happening in the home. The plot development is good and basic and makes one think its haunted spirits and the husband thinks the wife is a bit crazy, but the subtle terrifying hints that the writer introduces throughout the duration of the film indicates other potentials. This makes for a brilliantly chilling yet happy ending to the madness. And after watching, the title makes total sense.

I kinda like Shawn Ashmore so I'll stick with it but all this wouldn't happen if he just dumped her after she cheated on him.

The best parts of this movie were the scenes with his crime scene cleaning buddies. That be a cool premise for a movie itself. Made by Kevin Smith or something. Three people working as crime scene cleaners talking about their normal life.

I like how it's based on a true story but the actual true store of the movie was only about 30% of the movie.

Though the movie was pretty predictable, there were enough creepy scenes in it to make you never want to buy a new home without gutting it first. That, and take turns sleeping so that someone in the house is always awake and watching over you.

Pretty good movie the only part that gets me questioning is
how the cctv didn't capture him in the first place when he showed up and caused her to fall off the balcony, he isn't a ghost, no reason why he shouldn't show up on camera and he did move that book case or whatever it was to block the door. So why did they make her look like she's acting crazy but it ended up he was real?
Other than that, i liked this and would recommend it~

Not terrible but not particularly interesting either. I really like the two lead characters and those two crime scene clean-up guys but this film went far too long I had to change the playback speed. It's an inconsistent mashup of marital issues, supernatural, and home invasion that ends up being a whole bunch of nothing. That being said, there are some unintentional funny moments and I quite enjoy that stupid nonsensical ending.

Turned it off after 10 minutes. Totally unbelievable acting. It was that or falling a sleep.

I didn't expect much, just some entertaining Saturday night horror, but this was a let down. First of all, it's unnecessarily long, and over the 114 minutes, there aren't too many scary parts up there. To me this was pretty much predictable and just dull. Not very strong acting either.

Maybe someone else gets more out of it, but I just didn't enjoy this, not a bit.

The acting is pretty bad and the story is dull.
Really annoying is all the fighting and screaming.
A scary atmosphere is never accomplished.

Premise-wise, not a bad movie. However, for me, all the anger, shouting, and mistrust was extremely annoying and frustrating.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

Not too bad for a Netflix thriller. In some scenes, though, the acting seems a bit forced and the timing off. I mean, I've seen plenty of couples argue and they never had smiles on their faces or acted as if it never happened. Great ending. Not sure how if they're implying
a sequel
or not. But... they shouldn't.
