A solid 90s action flick. Harrison Ford is a great president who can kick butt. Gary Oldman plays a great villain. It went on a little too long and I didn't care for the last 15 minutes.

@eduromer gonna guess you watched it in 4k or 1080. All movies CGI 2010 and earlier look like shit in 4k and 1080 especially with a good tv

Roger Ebert’s negative review does explain the movie perfectly. The President (Harrison Ford) does take on each terrorist, conveniently one on one. Without anyone else around each time.
That doesn’t mean the film is bad. Otherwise it’s quite entertaining and fun. Especially since the President can’t only kick ass. He of course can also fly a plane.

An interesting movie with a thought-provoking "what if" plot, although it may not be the most realistic. The special effects may show the film's age, but Harrison Ford's performance keeps the film relevant and engaging. The action and suspense are well-paced, and Ford's portrayal of the President of the United States is convincing and captivating. If you're a fan of Ford and can overlook some of the less realistic elements, it's definitely worth a watch.

The 90s were a strange time for action films. Real actors started to do the action role instead of action stars who couldn't really act well (the likes of Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Van Damme, Seagal). The result was that all films tended to dip into the action arena in some way.

Now this wasn't a negative. It made for some great thrillers. And some really good action films.

The downside of the 90s however was the infancy of CGI. The imagination of the filmmaker was woken up by computer graphics but the results were underwhelming and did not age well.

So AF1 is a very solid thriller. Some good action setpieces and one of the better Die Hard-inspired films of the decade that followed it.

The CGI is atrocious in the final 10 minutes and that's the only real drawback. Oh that and Gary Oldman's dreadful Russian accent...

Despite the two hour run time, it is a pretty solid action film. Also, I don't care for the 90s symphony music as BGM to set the patriotic ambience, it's just so out of time.

A fun and exciting concept with a perfect choice in Harrison Ford as a believable action-movie President of the United States, but something was just lacking in the execution.

Best parts: Ford; Jerry Goldsmith's musical score; and some cool action (even if it's a little too far-fetched at times). You'll probably enjoy at least some of it, but it's not good enough for a "must-see" recommendation.

One of the first action movies I saw in theater, I really loved it as a kid. Nowadays it does not intrigue me and I find it rather boring (that I do not like Harris Ford as an actor does not help this movie, either...).
