This is another in a long line of solid efforts by Woody Allen. This one won't go down as a classic but I enjoyed it very much. The movie is a great depiction of a woman that has really been asleep for much of her life and has no idea who she is. Allen brings a fresh touch to an old theme. I'm not a fan of Mia Farrow by any stretch of the imagination but I did hate her less in this film (especially when she was under the influence). https://IHateBadMovies.com

Put it on not knowing what it was exactly as it was on a play list. After a minute I thought who's this woman doing a dodgy Woody Allen impersonation? Sure enough I checked and it was an Allen movie. I like his movies. Didn't like Farrow's work with the dialogue in this. Very unnatural. A character I never warmed to. The dialogue itself is below average for Allen and the plot is sleepy. Not one of Allen's better movies.

Alice is the story of a wife, and mother, who is terminally privileged, yet wants more, though can never pinpoint what it is that she wants.
In other words, it's the story of a woman having a midlife crisis.
This movie has all of the elements one would expect from Allen, however the tone is wobb More
