Whilst ostensibly a gripping account of the Watergate scandal that ended with Nixon's resignation, this is also a fascinating look at the workings of a newspaper and investigative journalism that feels like a bygone era in a time of 24 hour news where getting the story out first is more important than getting it right. The only downside is that the film leaves you wanting more as it only covers the initial investigations that broke the story, but that is a sign of the quality of the film. Both Redford and Hoffman are outstanding, with great support especially from Robards.

Just start where the post ends, seen 2 weeks ago. Great film well told and interpreted, with journalistic research of the old school and without the help of mobile phones and internet

For a journalism movie this is pretty compelling and entertaining. It ended and I still wanted to see more even though it is a long movie. Great performances from Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman. I also thought there were some really great shots, like when there is a close up on the tv of Nixon's inauguration while Woodward and Bernstein were typing the story in the background.

After 1 hour of watching I gave up... the reporters of the washington post make a string of phone calls and quote lots of names without bothering to explain who is who... it is after 1 hour that they follow the trace of money paid that would have ended up on the account of one of the guys who participated in the data theft from the watergate... and there is still 1h30 left... a pity I liked the redford and hoffman duo

I get this whole situation was very complex, but the movie is longer than it should be to resist time. I think it did not age well because the names are not that relevant now. The acting was good, the sets are good, but the script intends to be so precise that it gets lost in time.
