Amsterdamned is a fun and exciting film that offers a lot of entertainment and thrills. It is a well-made and enjoyable film that showcases the talent and vision of Dick Maas. It is worth recommending to fans who want to see a different and original take on the slasher genre.

Despite the dad-jokey title this is a pretty solid action/slasher/thriller. I liked the setting, the use of the atmospheric music bits and also the characters where great.

Actually quite a good slasher/action movie, which makes great use of the setting. Some cheesy bits, and it could have been a bit shorter, but the speed boat chase through canals makes it worthwhile!

Amsterdammed (1988). This was a treat, I remember hearing about this movie way back when and had always wanted to see it. Well I finally did. It's not really a horror movie, but more a police trying to catch the killer movie.
The most gruesome scene is the first victem and how/where she was found. There is a really extended boat chase though the canals, finishing with an bang. Just when you think the movie is over something else is thrown at you. It's a fair movie not sure I like why the bad guy did what he did.
6/10 Fair.
TRIVIA:
Dick Maas passed on the opportunity to direct a sequel to A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) in order to do this film. He later stated that he should have postponed Amsterdamned, as the Elm Street sequel could have been his international breakthrough.
