What incredible footage! Absolutely loved the music direction too, always pushing, dead set on the countdown. It's amazing what they accomplished with technology no powerful than the phone in your pocket.

Another thing that astounded me is how far behind we are today. We haven't been back to the Moon since the 70's. The speeches from the Presidents were so worldly, humble, and inspiring. You would not see that from the current President. WATCH THIS DOCUMENTRY.

This is NOT a typical documentary as it is lacking any sort of commentary or narration. And you don't need any. The footage speaks for itself. It's like looking back through time and see the events unfolding as they are happening. You can feel the intensity during the countdown and at every crucial stage in the mission. There is no Hollywood touch to any of this. I like this very much.
On the other hand, if you are looking for information and background on Apollo 11 this probably isn't the movie to watch. I am not saying you shouldn't, you most definately should. I just want you to know what to expect.

We most certainly could need an Apollo 11 event today.

Well done. No narration. I saw footage that was new to me, and I am still in awe of the achievement. This period was the golden era of NASA.

Wanted to see this because of the promise that it didn't have the same stale footage we've all seen. It didn't disappoint me.

This is an extraordinary documentary. Masterful editing with the best possible soundtrack uses nothing but archive footage and audio to tell the story of Apollo 11. No narration. It is an incredible feat to produce such an engaging film with these traits.

And there is still people who thinks the landing was faked and that the earth is flat. This movie/documentary should be mandatory to watch!
About the show, a little boring at the beginning but quite enjoyable when the action starts.

Previously unknown footage, mission footage and most of it on film format so the image quality could be great! Those things made me want to see this.

I got my image quality, that was amazing considering the years that have past, but the rest lacks. It was a very unexciting way to tell about the mission. No flow, almost not interesting because of the presentation. It almost felt like a (bad) slide presentation when you switch to a slide and someone begins to tell you what you already can see on the slide and adds almost nothing to it.

I've read they added some graphics which weren't 'original' material, I've never seen such small information on screen, unreadable if you not have a IMAX at home.

Good documentary, but even with the PublicRelations-Guy explaining some Details, i missed the lack of real telling.

But the pictures are astounding. It gives you the first good summary of the events from these days.

I liked it and i think every human should see this. Because it is our history.

From director Todd Douglas Miller (Dinosaur 13) comes a cinematic event fifty years in the making. Crafted from a newly discovered trove of 65mm footage, and more than 11,000 hours of uncatalogued audio recordings, Apollo 11 takes us straight to the hear t of NASA’s most celebrated mission—the one that first put men on the moon, and forever made Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin into household names. Immersed in the perspectives of the astronauts, the team in Mission Control, and the millions of spectators on the ground, we vividly experience those momentous days and hours in 1969 when humankind took a giant leap into the future.

Incredible documentary. I watched this with my dad who was a child when Apollo 11 launched and recalled how grainy and poor the footage was, to see it all again in beautiful original footage remastered for modern screens is fantastic. The colours and style of the 60’s America were really brought to life.

Recommended.
