Officially, Apollo 17 was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later in 1973, three American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it's the real reason we've never gone back to the moon.

Found this found footage film on Netflix! As someone who enjoys every found footage film ever made no matter how terrible, I'm always thrilled to find one that isn't. Good acting and terrific directing (the techniques used and the locations filmed truly gave this an authentic feel) made this one a real find for me. I liked it so much that being the only one who did doesn't bother me in the least.

Show?
Waste of time, luckily i "watched" it while i was cleaning the house. Too many plot holes, for example
if they all died, how we are supposed to see the footage?
They had a 1gbit upload live broadcast to the earth for all those HD cameras with fake film grain effect? Then, the DoD knew the situation from the beginning, yet they didn't tell nothing to the guys? Just for fun? "Let's spend some billions just to see them
die in an HD live streaming
" Cameras: sometimes the same camera has old film effect, sometimes has electronic scanlines. Either is a film camera, either is electronic, it can't be both! About cameras: multiple security cameras recording 24/7 for a whole week inside the ship. Where is supposed all those hours and hours of footage to be stored? They bring a ton of tape? Also, some security cameras had the old film effect, which is not possible. In the end, extremely boring, predictable : they should have done a regular movie, not a Blair Witch project wannabe

Dreadfully bad. A found footage format where the movie makers couldn't even be bothered to research the film format of the day and/or vary the effects enough to prevent the digital footage from looking like processed effects. In other words: color is too perfect. Film lacks grain. The attempt to "switch format" sizes is obnoxious rather than kitschy and genuine. It's just annoying bad. I won't even comment on the plot because I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes I was so fed up.

Title: A Lunar Leap into Found-Footage Horror: A Review of "Apollo 18" (2011)

Essential, Hook, and Thesis:

Suspense, realism, and a relentless sense of dread - these elements are crucial to the found-footage sub-genre, and "Apollo 18" (2011) utilizes them to a disturbing effect. The film trans More
