Yet another example of what was defined as art a few decades ago, and is actually just rape and paedophilia.

Presented as a celebration of life and love, "love and lovemaking in all its myriad forms", well no. It's mainly love of underaged children.

It's a succession of more or less linked stories, and almost all of them would be considered illegal today.
It either involves older (and sometimes very old) men having sex with young men; or young men having sex with child looking women.

The homosexual stories are of old men bringing back young men. But there's also one with a literal child (I mean not even a teenager).

Not a good look on women either. Almost all main characters women have child-like and androgynous features. The only ones who do not are:
1) Aziz's mother, who is entirely covered but her face
2) Budur, which is presented as a treacherous woman and ends up [spoiler]cutting Aziz's dick and/or balls[/spoiler]

Otherwise Aziza is clearly a child. Zummurud is so androgynous that her main storyline is to be taken for a young man. Dunya is very child like too. The demon's captive may be in between.

And the two male characters actually in love with a woman are Nuredin and Aziz, which are the most stupid and useless guys ever, like, wow.

Nuredin is also very young, and the only thing he does (apart from being stupid) is being taken in by older women that have sex with him.

Otherwise there's the old couple that brings in two 15 year olds, drugs them, and take bets on which one will rape which. (But since they both do, it's beautiful and it's love, right ?)

Some of the stories can be interesting if you can manage to make abstraction of this, but wow, it sure is disturbing that this could have been considered appropriate at its time.
