Mads Mikkelsen is a great actor. We know that. He is capable of great performances. In Arctic, he delivers. But lets just take a moment and think about the movie I just watched. This is a simple story of survival, of hope, of despair, of regrets. And it achieves something very endearing. It will take hold of you and make you a part of the movie. I loved it. Just watch it, okay?

Mads Mikkelsen is fantastic and carries the movie. With a lesser actor this would of been bad. Still the script is a little boring until the end.

Mads Mikkelsen is one of the greatest actors I've seen in my life, and in this movie he is a natural; at some point it feels more like a documentary because of that, you stop seeing a movie actor and you just see a survivor clinging to his life and then sacrificing it for something more than the self. I understand that it's the nature of the movie, but to me it lacked a bit more substance: some background on the crash
, the deceased friend, hinted at by the pile of stones in the beginning,
would have been a nice touch;
a bit more interaction with his rescuer, before she succumbed into the almost comatose state, would also have made things somewhat more interesting too
. Anyway, for me the movie as a whole isn't particularly great, but the acting is absolutely amazing, no doubt.

Filme excelente, atuação nem precisamos comentar. Eu acho muito louco pessoas que veem um filme como esse e falam que precisa de mais ação e tudo mais. Sobrevivência é isso aí que está no filme. Parabéns a direção. Recomendo para quem quer uma dose de realidade nos filmes.

Man, so many things wrong with this story, for starters, why did he not tried the helicopter radio, batteries don't die on that type of crash, why he filed the fuel container with water, was he on a desert? Why didn't he used his legs to pull the girl at the hill, just strap the rope around him and walk, legs are stronger than arms..... Nothing amazing about the Photography, nothing amazing about the music, just a good actor making the best he can on a poor story.

It’s crazy how a movie without dialog can make such an impact. Great movie of survival and the daily aspect of it. Slow burn with a twist literally 2 seconds before the end.

If this movie taught me anything it's that the arctic doesn't give a fuck about your survival.

A fairly standard survival drama, though a very good one at that!

'Arctic' is wonderfully acted out by Mads Mikkelsen, who is all alone (aside from a small role for María Thelma Smáradóttir) and rather mute all the way... but that doesn't take anything away from his strong performance. It's a competently made film in fairness, as it manages to set the scene perfectly and tells its story well - I was invested.

At its core, it's a great survival movie that showcases the human spirit's strength and resilience. What truly distinguishes _Arctic_ from other survival films is the added element of caring for another person. The need to protect and care for another human being in such a perilous environment intensifies the emotional journey, making it much more than a typical survival tale. Mads Mikkelsen's performance is exceptional and the film's cinematography and direction further contribute to its greatness. A must-see for survival movie enthusiasts and anyone looking for a gripping cinematic experience.

You know from the start that only two actors are playing. You know the movie will be of THAT story. I do not get what else you people expect. I have seen a few such type films but I truly like this, probably because Mikkelsen was captivating, so clever on his actions and I really liked that we didn't have any soap flashbacks like family I miss you, I have a child who is crying at home etc.
The beginning where you just hits you directly with no why and explanation is good and the ending is more than good, just a frame of a helicopter approaching. Brilliant.
At first i was worried that this was gonna end up being another silent art-house piece of shit like All Is Lost (2013) but thankfully it surprised me and turned out to be a genuinely thrilling and interesting survival adventure flick.

This showed up in a “hidden gems” category on Netflix, glad I watched it. Mads was incredible. The story was simple but his performance kept me engaged the whole time. It was a short movie but it felt long, in a good way.
