Armour of God is a movie that is hard to love. The action is excellently choreographed as usual from anything Jackie Chan had his hands in back then, but on the other hand, the movie has some serious lack of pace. It makes the whole thing grind to a halt midway through. The beginning and the end are good enough, but there's half an hour in the middle that is just plain dull. The chemistry between the two male leads is also non-existent, which again make many scenes cringeworthy. There's also a serious lack of good comedy, which makes me think there's something being lost in the translation. Anyway...there's no way you can't have watched this if you are a Jackie Chan fan, but this one leaves a lot to be desired and might not be for the casual action fan.

Completely agree with the other user comments. This thing is a mess in so many ways, between awful script, no connection or feeling towards any characters, and just an all around mess of a movie. Theres like 45minutes of no action and no choreographed fighting, so about half of the movie is just weird character interactions and very little comedic attempt. The "small town dropoff scene" and finale fight and escape was the best part and the best setup. Both are worth the 5 point score alone. Unless you're a true Jackie Chan fan, this really isnt a must see.
