----

**The Good:**

The documentary goes into detail describing the different theories, stories and myths concerning Atlantis and offers possible explanations to previously unanswered questions.

It's breathtaking to see how much-undiscovered history lies beneath the sea and ground levels.

The CGI animations are somewhat basic, but they get the job done, so it doesn’t matter that much.

Like the best documentaries, Atlantis Rising offers new insights and spark discussions and ideas for further excavations to find out more about our rich history. It poses further questions than finds answers, though, which hopefully inspires new researchers to continue from here.

----

**The Bad:**

I'm, not sure that I like the conversations with quick cuts and shaky cams, made to seem like they would be dramatized. They take away from the documentary-style storytelling.

The film moves very quickly from one theoretical site to another and does not delve very deeply into historical facts and evidence before moving onto another site.

Advertising this as a James Cameron-led documentary is false since he mostly appears in a few conversations through a video link.

The further the film goes, the further it strives away from the original main subject: to locate the possible historical site of Atlantis. While the finds presented here are interesting and revolutionary, Atlantis Rising ultimately fails to address its main questions.

----

**The Ugly:**

Those early CGI renditions of Na'vi people from the upcoming Avatar sequel.
