Like drunken darts, this hits the bullseye but on the wrong target.

_Babysitter_ starts off like if _Shame_ was a French Canadian comedy, taking a tongue-in-cheek look average, everyday misogyny. Midway through the film, however, and becomes a movie about female empowerment.

Separately, either would've been great for me, but together they feel like the director didn't have enough material to focus on just one.

[MUBI] Although it has a disconcerting beginning, which leaves the viewer breathless, this reflection on desire is sustained with a certain ironic sense around a visual representation close to the giallo and the erotic cinema of the eighties to subvert its gaze and offer the point of view of the observed woman. The final aesthetic becomes a ghostly tale that freezes the tone of comedy to build a surreal perception of dissatisfaction, both male and female.
