Love this movie. And the director. Henenlotter is a real kook. An excited, lovable kook. Watch the homemade "documentary" he and a hype man (?) made on the Basket Case blu-ray. You can't not like the guy. Also on the Frankenhooker commentary the guy can't stop talking! I love him.

A near-perfect example of cheesy horror done right. This is a gem.

What a disgusting little piece of trash this is. Exactly what you would expect. I wonder how I would have reacted had I not heard the "twist" prior to seeing the flick.

Waiting patiently for Basket Case x Malignant

Thia film has a really crazy idea but executed really well despite the low budget. It's weird, bizzare, and creative. Whoever came up with the monster design is a genius. Love the story, synth score, Duane's hair, the spot-on acting, the cheesiness, what's not to love? When I think that my life is shit, I think of Duane Bradley. He deserved a better life. Every horror fans need to see this!

Low budget gold. Better than I expected. Some obvious faults.

A Horror-B-Movie from the 80's which I didn't like because of its stupid plot, bad acting and horrible "special" effects.

It takes a while for the reveal of what's in the basket but once Belial is out you're in for a gory, bloody, loud and fun ride. **Basket Case** is a story about revenge and brotherly love. It's very cheesy, has a great score and the acting is awful but it's guaranteed fun and great laughs. The creature looks terrifyingly odd but you can't help but laugh whenever he's on-screen, that's where it gets it's B-movie vibes from. My favorite moment is when Belial gets a temper tantrum and starts screaming and screaching and throwing stuff around. The use of practical effects and stop-motion is a treat, it doesn't look that great but for the year this was made it's a win. Whenever Belial is on-screen it's entertaining but some parts of the movie are boring, like the romance scenes or the unnecessary sexual moments. The flashback scenes were great they really elevated the story and characters who felt bland prior. The ending was just weird but kinda fitting.

Fun at times and not so much at others. I can appreciate the cheesy effects and acting but I did hope for a more fun and interesting story.
