Nothing about this worked me, apart from the casting. What a wonderful group of actors, squandered by a muddled, incoherent screenplay. I wish I had gotten into the fun everybody was clearly having, but I just didn't.

We've seen the kinds of trouble _an_ actor can get into without a great script...imagine a group of B&W era favorites! I was expecting more but, it was, "good." The plot of Beat The Devil involves a band of four motley characters intent on stealing uranium from British East Africa for a quick profit, in a land deal brokered by the Bogart character,(named Billy Dannreuther).
