I wouldn't say this is a great film, but it is an admirable found footage effort that's also a PSA to the mistreatment of the mentally ill. Surprisingly, there isn’t much that really happens as these characters observe a mental illness patient but there's a couple successfully eerie moments. It tries to do things a little differently, and while it doesn't always succeed, there's still things to like. The 'quiet' approach they've taken made a change from the usual frenetic pace found on most Indonesian found footage. I kind of get it why a lot of people hated this film as it struggles to prove the connection between science and superstition it's aiming for, which is quite frustrating to watch. It also tries too hard to join this 'elevated horror' bandwagon but just comes across as a pretentious, incoherent mess. The vision and effort are at least admirable.
