Fantastic cinematography and sound design, but I wasn't a fan of the glacial pace and abstract wrapper around a pretty basic story.

To say this favored style over substance would be an understatement. The audio and visual style was fantastic... I think I'd have enjoyed this more packaged as a screen saver with the few story elements that are there removed.

Certainly delivers on atmosphere and style. It gave me a weird gut feeling. But that couldn't save the actual emptiness of the movie. It's a bit of insult to expect anyone to find this stimulating. I think the writer/director should have been way more awars of the audience. But he had some talent. Couldn't understand what was being said most of the time. So what is the bloody point?

@moonkodi Which is why I watched the trailer, read these reviews first, then took a pass on a waste of time. Thanks!

It’s was an ok movie if your into slow movie sci fi movies with some cool visual effects and all, but it’s definitely a one time watch type film.

Visually it was great. Lots of oddly shot scenes with a great soundtrack to back up the scene. Overall it's not so much a horror movie but it is one to make you think.

The main aspect of this movie is the visuals.

There is a narrative with dialogue and characters and locations, but I feel like it serves more to give a sequence to said visuals than to actually form a story.

I really liked the cinematography of this movie. Many shots have a beautiful colour palette. Also the audio is very good, very nice sound design. The soundtrack is a good mix between 80s synths and psychedelic sounds. But I did find the story to be confusing and not clear what makes it difficult to gain empathy for the characters. Also notice that some songs/tracks are used more then two times what causes the song to lose its effect.

Catching up before it's leaving Shudder. Not for everyone and need to be in the right headspace to fully enjoy it. It's beautifully disturbing! The plot is not the strong point, it's about a woman who tries to escape the health institute she's in. I don't claim to understand what's happening in this film but it's a it’s a trippy and experimental experience. With limited dialogue and slow pacing, it manages to keep me invested with its compelling aesthetic. Michael J Rogers is spectacular when his characters dives into full madness! Every scene is so masterfully crafted. The surreal and eye-popping visuals create this terrifying nightmare that you can't espace. It makes me feel very uneasy but I keep drawn to it. It has 70's sci-fi films feel to it and the music is very hypnotic. Overall it's not as great as _Mandy_ but comes close.
