I honestly think they could have done a better job with this movie. Not sure why it is nominated for best picture, but it's not my cup of tea. The plot is weak and some acting is even weaker, which makes it funny because it's about a play. The dialog is long and sometimes lots of words have been used but nothing is said.

I kind of crazy movie. It is not about they giving us «old-fashioned apocalyptic porn» like «Birdman: The Phoenix Rises.»

«They love blood. They love action. Not this talky, depressing, philosophical bullshit» That's hilarious, because that's what the movie may look to the mainstream audience and that's exactly what they were expecting from Birdman.

A thrilling leap forward for director Alejandro González Iñárritu, Birdman is an ambitious technical showcase powered by a layered story and outstanding performances from Michael Keaton and Edward Norton.

If you get to understand this film, it´s excellent. If you don´t, you are gonna think you waste 2 hours of your life.

is it just me that hated this awful movie?

A bizzare, creative and unique film, fully enticing, with its amazing direction, great performances and unpredictable plot.

Everyone has been praising this movie's camerawork ever since it came out. Rightly so. It is amazing. Really complements the performances by all the actors.

I didn't quite get everything the movie wanted to say though. Will have to re-watch it someday.

Certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea. But it IS genius. Well made, beautifully shot, superb acting and great message. Good choice for the Oscar.

Ao longo do filme, em diversos momentos, a realidade flerta com a fantasia, sendo impossível delimitar o que realmente está acontecendo. Ademais, a narração através da "voz interior" do personagem e determinados recursos técnicos, como a utilização da câmera com a visão do personagem, facilita a entrada no "mundo de Birdman".

A trilha traz um detalhe curioso: durante a história, em momentos de tensão acentuada, uma bateria parece "exprimir" os sentimentos do personagem principal.

O filme é metalinguístico, já que aborda o que é "arte" em questões de atuação e roteiro. Durante diversos momentos, aborda-se a histeria da indústria atual por super-heróis e afins, enquanto diferentes personagens expõem sua visão do que é ou não válido de se considerar um "sucesso", digno de prestígio.

Dessa forma, o filme parece ser um apelo sobre si mesmo e o "cinema de qualidade" em contraposição à crescente tecnologia e imediatismo das grandes massas.
