Like so many other Steven Seagal later releases, I can't say this is his worst, but it certainly isn't his best. As far as "bleh" or completely forgettable, this one ranks with the best of 'em, though. I will at least say this about _Black Dawn_ : at least he called in his own lines and didn't hire a voiceover to do them. Seagal does all his fighting in this movie with a gun; don't look for any Aikido scenes or a lot of hand-to-hand... well, actually, there **was** one scene, but...(no, that makes no sense).... I don't know; there was one scene where an unnamed, faceless person (seriously, they only showed the combatants from the waist down so you never saw who was actually doing the "fighting") was kicking butt against like four other attackers; you would have _thought_ it was Seagal, but flash-forward to the next scene where Seagal's character is walking calmly down a corridor...in a completely different suit, so....??? Still not sure what that was all about? Apart from that one very confusing scene (where absolutely nothing in the way of actual hand-to-hand combat was seen, only some bodies jostling around, and no faces) there were no hand-to-hand fight scenes. I guess Seagal is getting too long in the tooth to even pretend anymore. What a shame; he used to be really exciting to watch but now he can't even fake a fight. COMPLETELY unremarkable and very non-memorable. I'll probably not even remember watching this one, but I'm making notes here so I won't make the mistake of watching it again. PS: Why the title _Black Dawn_ is anyone's guess. PSS: This movie really just sucked. Not as much as some of his others, but it still sucked. You have been warned.
