Another quarantine show, Black Spot was a little confusing at first. During the first 2 seasons, the town of Villefranche has all sorts of murderous plots ongoing, unusual for a town of its size. You find out eventually everything (or almost everything) points back to the Forest and the danger it’s in due to the Steiners.
The end of season 2 leaves us with a doozy - Teddy is still in the hospital, the quarry is blown up, Hermann has shot Cernunnos (and hit him), and the DNA tests from the blood match Sylvain, an 18 year old boy that Laurène was chained up with back in 1996 at Cernunnos’ lair, AS WELL AS A 50% MATCH TO LAURÈNE.
Crazy. The characters were relatable and well acted, the plot was different than your average murder TV show and it was in French!

Skip it, police academy movie officers were better than this dumb crew. I just made it to 2nd chapter. Boring, poorly written, bad acting, a soap opera mixed with a bad wanna be king's script.

Absolutely gutted this has ended. I was waiting patiently for the next season.

It had a slow start, but became such an intriguing plot.

I really enjoyed this series, and its focus on small town life and politics, gone slightly supernatural. The flawed female lead was a nice break from perfect and perfectly attractive, I really appreciate European shows for the greater diversity for females (not perfect, but much better than the super generic North American leading lady type). The show kept me engaged, and Laurent Capelluto's character provided an interesting counterpoint - he's what prompted me to watch 'Into the Night'.

My only pet peeve is the translation of the title; in French, it means something - an area with no reception, a dead zone. In English, it just ... does not engage. I'm not sure what a better title would have been, likely no one else really cares, but it creates cognitive dissonance when you know the original meaning ;) Petty detail, but still. English title is dull.

@missaddkt Black Spot actually does mean in English what Zone Blanche (white zone) means in French, an area of poor or no communication coverage. "Black spot" also means "a place or area marked by a particular trouble or concern". Seems a pretty fitting title to me.

This show was BADDDDDD.
Not sure what those people were smoking that thought it was good, but it was complete nonsense. And the main actresses....my God was she ever terrible. A lot of these dubbed Netflix shows have been good, BUT NOT THIS 1!

I honestly don't understand the relatively high rating of this series... The idea isn't bad, the cinematography either, even the actors did a good job, but the script is really poor. I watched it in French (my native language) and the dialogue sounded so odd that it was hard to watch... No idea if it's better translated, but watching the actors do what they could with dialogues that sounded so dry and unnatural was pretty painful.

Absolute snooze fest. LOST made more sense and FLASH as terrible as it is right now, is more entertaining. TERRIBLE.
