If you're into reading books, I'd suggest picking José Saramago's novel and reading it instead of watching this. Blindness is a must-read in my book for any book-reading person, but this movie.... it isn't, forgive the pun, a must-see. It ain't bad but it ain't Saramago.

Didn't evoke me the feel of the novel. I could barely feel the anguish, the desperation, the frustration, the ugliness and filthiness. It was a nice adaptation but nah, it could've been better.

Fernando Meirelles is a great director, no doubt about it. Blindness is a philosophical masterpiece where the blind are those who see and those who see are blind. Unbelievable plot, outstanding actors.

Good movie, even if not so great as the novel, but it can be an impossible task.

This ended up going a different direction than I imagined going it, but it was still a pretty decent movie. It started out a little slow, but it definitely kept me interested for the entire length of the film.

I didn't read the book, I went in blind (pun intended). There were no expectations here, but it's just not that good of a movie. The book nerds will tell you it's terrible, it's not, it's just very average. It seems like it's going nowhere most of the movie. In the last 10 minutes of the movie you finally can see where it was headed (pun intended again), but it didn't need to take that long to get to the point or make the road to it seem so long and honestly, trivial.

Is it a boring drama or boring horror? A movie this slow needs an atmosphere and this failed. 25 million to make this? It looks so sterile. Why do we need so much white light as a viewer when it didnt work?
Looked like it was shot on cheap cameras.
They couldn't even get any emotion from a scene of blind people listening to a radio., which is what it was supposed to do. It was the best sounding hand sized radio I've ever heard btw. The whole movie is poorly executed. Characters? Who cares. Plot? Who cares. There is a contrived social commentary in it but I can't even be bothered to analyse it. What a waste of money making this crap would be a better social commentary.

I didn't read the book so I can't say anything about the adaptation but I can say the movie was great. Worth every second!!

not-bad adaptation but didn't reach the depth of the novel, but was able to cover up all significant events (maybe it should have the prolonged the post-asylum part of the movie).
Apart from that, I must say that the acting of many of those characters did not convince. For a lot of moments, they did not look like actual blinds.

A dark post-apocalyptic movie with a heavy drama setting.
It is a movie that is certainly interesting to watch, even though it does tend to borrow a lot of its aspects from other (more succesfully worked out) movie plots like 'Das Experiment' and other doomsday movies. The ending is a bit weak, even though they tried to make it original, and some charater choices are debatable.
But even with that this is a movie worth watching.
