Too lengthy thriller about a diamond smuggler (Di Caprio) in Siera Leone. While the militant RUF rises to power (also because their child soldiers know no mercy) he has to find a way to smuggle a huge diamond out of the country. BTW: the movie is very brutal and depicts some inhumane behavior!

Good movie, the plot is very good and it is well told.

This movie perfectly demonstrates how easy it is to brainwash kids, whether it's hating someone or how great to be a transgender. Whatever the agenda they have right now.
Leo is great as always, awesome accent. And the rest of the cast is good.

Today I let my girlfriend pick a movie and she picked one I haven't seen in a long long time and it was a good pick. Blood Diamond has two great leads in Hounsou and DiCaprio (minus the accent). They play off each other very well but Hounsou steals the show.

The story was something that I enjoyed too. Totally blanked on the child soldiers bit. It also has some very dark stuff happening. Loved the kids nicknames though!

Anyway all in all Blood Diamond is worth the watch and I think is a film where DiCaprio uses a gun the most. Wish he would do a straight up action movie soon.

The torturous road of South African diamonds to the greedy fingers of an indifferent world makes this new Edward Zwick movie one of the most powerful Action/Adventure/Dramas to come out of Hollywood in a long time. The perfect balance between entertainment and a thoughtful social commentary helps the center of the story to have a real heart and a palpable respect for us, the audience.

From a time when they made good movies with a real story and action without the help of computers.

Lots of great moments, social issues in this movie, and very unexpected plot twists. Often I forgot I was in the room, it got my attention so much. The three main actors all do well in this too. So definitely worth it’s long running time

One of those beautiful movies where the final scene is different than what you expected, and that makes it even more beautiful. DiCaprio is such a master in changing is accent and forging is way of speaking, making his character unique. Loved it!
