An urgent documentary about the way anti-dictatorship fighters have become dictators in Uganda, changing the rules to remain in power "sine die." It works especially well due to the effervescence of the events surrounding the 2021 presidential elections. And it conveys the feeling of constant danger, with some especially violent images, in a country in which the international community has little to say because it does not have wealth to exploit. This musician turned politician tells the first-person story of a country abandoned to his fate.

I must admit that up until now, I knew very little about Uganda or its political landscape in particular. This is actually a good starting point for this documentary about the 2021 presidential election in Uganda and the opposition politician and musician Bobi Wine. The film is definitely effective in making it clear from the singer's perspective why it is necessary to oust long-time ruler Yoweri Museveni and his regime. The film also offers a very good insight into the life of Bobi Wine and, in particular, the difficulties he experiences as a result of his political activism. Of course, it must also be mentioned that it is exclusively an opposition view of the state of things, but in principle, that is not a bad thing. Because the images appear to support this viewpoint quite clearly. And the film provides a good overview of the general situation in Uganda.
