a perfectly fun family movie.

There is a term I may need to coin that's not jingoism but an equivalent for when rather than being hyper pro militaristic they're hyper pro American messiness. The example that jumps to mind is Daddy Daycare when they go to the zoo or whatever and there's and "bad" daycame with all their kids in a row calmly waiting for their turn to go inside and then Daddy Daycamp comes charging over the hill like a swarm of children in completely organized chaos but that's ok because "kids are supposed to be messy and fun" and there this thing in American film that looks down on order as if every kid must be chaos and is incapable of order and suggesting that they engage with order is akin to child abuser. Whatever I end up calling this, this movie has that and it's the worst part of the movie. That said it's such a small part of the movie its hard to really dock the movie for it. There's some cringe bits, there's some amusing bits, there's some wholesome bits. But overall it's a successful movie even if it does have teens calling out an adult for not getting their terrible hipster costumes. They dress like Disney characters but only the live action ones. Which is just awful. It was a decent movie but that character design for Cruella DeVille was just terrible.
