Always seemed on the verge of being an epic storytelling, but fell short in depth & execution in the end. Borg was fascinating and it would have been great to see more depth with McEnroe. The tennis match reenactments just weren't engaging enough and made me wish to just be able to watch the actual matches.

Love this movie. I am ashamed to admit it was made better by the fact that I totalllllyy forgot who won in real life so I was super on the edge of my seat.

If you were watching tennis, even casually aware, during this time you'll remember what you thought you knew. This is a great take on "the rest of the story."

I remember my Mom telling me at that time that Connors had McEnroe's bad boy reputation not long earlier. To me, Connors seemed like the "good" American, and Mac was the ass. We all thought Borg was always "IceBorg". This movie helps understand all that.

Tense and thrilling on the court, but a little dull off it. Still, it's game, set and match to the actors portraying the two tennis rivals; they held my interest, despite my disinterest in the sport itself.

Fuoco contro ghiaccio. Europa contro Stati Uniti. Costanza robotica contro improvvisazione (fin troppo) umana. Understatement contro overacting.

I vaguely remember the fuss with Borg and McEnroe from my childhood but much like today I had zero interest in sports nor watching it on TV. This movie however had me on the edge of my seat up till the end as if perfectly portrays the tension within the people and on or off the court. A great movie about something so futile that avoids many of the pittraps of other sportsfilms.

It unfortunately isn't good enough to make me watch any sports on TV though.

The film is like Wimbledon: getting to the end is long, arduous and often uninteresting, but the main event is actually fun to watch, especially when the players are at the top of their game. I'm a huge Shia LaBeouf fan and Sverrir Gudnason was hotter than spit on a Saharan sidewalk. That said, I couldn't have cared less for their origin stories and, truth be told, I don't really care for tennis in general. Those who appreciate tennis more than I do will certainly enjoy the film more than I did.
