I have always been a huge fan of Steve Martin so I might be a bit biased when I say this isn´t only great comedy it also has a real story.

A good comedy starring Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy.

I was expecting more laughs than I got, nevertheless 'Bowfinger' makes for entertaining viewing. Martin (Bowfinger) and Murphy (Kit) certainly carry things, all the amusing stuff comes via their performances.

There are certainly funny moments, while the film runs for the perfect amount of time to avoid everything getting stale as the premise is a little light. They show the aforementioned off nicely though, Murphy brings a sense of believability about his character's situation.

I've seen greater from both lead actors, but this film is undoubtedly worth watching.

Much funnier than I suspected, considering the family-friendly comedy hell both Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin's careers were roasting in at the time. Martin is unusually bouncy and jubilant as a con-man film producer, his enthusiasm likely due in no small part to his behind-the-camera credit as screenwriter, while Murphy once again plays a double role. He's just passable as the action movie superstar at the center of the storyline, but relentlessly funny in a supporting slot as the actor's identical, geeky, socially inept younger brother.

There isn't much of an arc to the plot - everything goes off without a hitch from, basically, the word go - but it's not trying to be Macbeth or anything. A simple, unassuming excuse to let two comedy legends play around on the screen, it's perfectly entertaining fluff.
