Another one of my favorite movies of all time. Jim Carey is one of my favorite actors. This movie is so funny. Who doesn't want to play God. I know would love to give it a shot if it was possible.

Bruce Almighty is a 2003 comedy-fantasy film starring Jim Carrey as Bruce Nolan, a television reporter who becomes disillusioned with life. After a particularly bad day, he angrily ridicules God and is subsequently endowed with divine powers. The movie explores themes of faith, redemption, and the consequences of unchecked power.

Bruce Nolan is a human interest television reporter in Buffalo, New York, who feels unfulfilled despite his high ratings and the love of his beautiful girlfriend, Grace. He is desperate to obtain the job of head anchor at the TV station, but his ambition is thwarted when his rival colleague, Evan Baxter, is chosen for the position. In a fit of anger, Bruce denounces God on live television, blaming him for his misfortunes.

God, played by Morgan Freeman, appears to Bruce and gives him divine powers in order to teach him a lesson. At first, Bruce revels in his newfound abilities, using them to his own advantage and playing pranks on those around him. However, he soon learns that great power comes with great responsibility and that he cannot control everything. When he tries to use his powers to win back Grace, who has become disillusioned with him, she rejects him, telling him that he has become a different person.

Bruce realizes that he has been using his powers selfishly and begins to use them to help others. He saves a man from committing suicide, reunites a family, and helps a homeless man. However, his actions have consequences, and he finds himself unable to stop a tornado that is headed towards Buffalo. In desperation, he begs God to help him, and God reveals that the purpose of his test was to make Bruce humble and compassionate. Bruce passes the test and regains the love of Grace and the respect of his colleagues.

Bruce Almighty is a thought-provoking and entertaining film that explores the age-old question of faith and the nature of God. The movie is filled with humor, thanks to Jim Carrey's wacky and outlandish performance. He is at his comedic best as the bumbling and frustrated Bruce, who is unable to cope with the sudden influx of divine powers. Morgan Freeman is also excellent as God, bringing a sense of gravitas and wisdom to the role.

The movie's themes of redemption and humility are well-handled, and the consequences of Bruce's actions are explored in an intelligent and nuanced way. The film manages to be both funny and heartfelt, and it leaves the viewer with much to think about long after the credits have rolled.

Overall, Bruce Almighty is a thoroughly enjoyable and thought-provoking film that is sure to delight audiences of all ages. It is a fitting tribute to the power of faith and the importance of humility, and it is a testament to the talents of its cast and crew.

**Bruce Almighty leverages Carrey's comedy strengths and a solid supporting cast to create a top-notch lighthearted comedy. **

Honestly, I had a traumatic experience from seeing The Mask way too young, and it left me terrified of Jim Carrey for quite a while. Even after I grew out of the Carreyphobia, I still wasn't a fan, but Bruce Almighty changed everything. The first time I saw it, it was against my will, but I am so glad I was forced to watch it because it's a wonderful movie! It has fun with Christian values and themes without bashing or harassing its source material. It's just a good-natured funny movie that sees Carrey's Bruce Nolan grow from kind but self-absorbed to considerate and caring of those around him and appreciating all that he already had in his life, especially his love interest played by Jennifer Anniston. Bruce Almighty also showcases a young Steve Carrell in his big breakout role as Carrey's rival, who faces the wrath of Carrey's God powers in a hilarious way. This film is by far my favorite Jim Carrey film and one of my favorite comedies.

Being God can be Hell.

Fans of Jim Carrey can't go wrong with this fun filled picture that's not without serious undertones as well.

The Premise is flimsy as such, Carrey plays Nolan, a harried and fed up TV reporter who feels that all of his problems are God's fault. Having enough of his whingeing, God (Morgan Freeman) summons Nolan to his "residence" and bestows all his powers to him. This is where the film hits its stride, the makers letting Carrey loose for a number of funny sequences as he plays God to further his own ends.

It goes where you expect it to, and nobody else gets a look in as Carrey does his stuff, but the journey is a most pleasant one. 7/10
