In late 1890s Wyoming, Butch Cassidy is the affable, clever and talkative leader of the outlaw Hole in the Wall Gang. His closest companion is the laconic dead-shot Sundance Kid. As the west rapidly becomes civilized, the law finally catches up to Butch, Sundance and their gang. Chased doggedly by a special posse, the two decide to make their way to South America in hopes of evading their pursuers once and for all.

A very good western. Paul Newman and Robert Redford have great chemistry and I could watch them rob banks all day. The music is great too. I always think of Spider-man 2 when I hear Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head but I had no idea this is what it was made for. It is a little slow in the first half, the chase feels like it takes forever.

The movie had good jokes ngl. However, 2h runtime was too long at the end, it stretched and bored me in the latter half. Which is an issue I seemingly have with a lot movies, but still. Shot in 1969, there is also some sexism here, it's not blatant but definitely there, and some scenes were weird to watch honestly. It had a good run in the middle though, and it was pretty good at playing repetitive jokes, and thus also having memorable lines. "Who the hell are those guys?" 5.5/10

This is how a good feature film is interpreted.

This is what you might call "lightly likable".
It's a comic Western about the two famous outlaws of the Hole in the Wall gang.
I saw it at the Louisville cinema when it came out, and I wasn't thrilled, but I wasn't totally averse to it.
I remember when the scene where Sundance (Redford) looks lik More

Robert Redford and Paul Newman are on super form in this story of the eponymous turn of the century train robbers. There is loads of charisma on display as this pair take a sort of care in the community approach to their crimes. Determined to avoid fatalities, they proceed to make the life of poor o More

I found this movie to be entertaining and intelligent, sticking surprisingly close to real events a lot of the time. Robert Redford and Paul Newman have a good chemistry together, as they will illustrate again in The Sting.

This was one of if not the most popular movie the year it came out. Appar More
