Making her way through life by forming superficial relationships, Yoko keeps everyone at arm's length, whether it's her father and stepmother or Hajime, the owner of a small bookstore who could be the father of her unborn child. I loved the film. I particularly loved the scene where Yoko is sick and sleeping. Hajime visits her and rings the bell again and again, however, Yoko doesn't wake up. We keep staring at her, waiting for her to respond to the door. As she slowly wakes up and realises somebody is at the door, she suddenly looks into the camera, making us feel uncomfortable and intruding like a stalker—just an amazing scene.
