I don't get it, why are people being so damn critical about the movie ? Ya gotta understand that it was just a catalyst so that the MCU franchise could grow on it; the movie was purely made to introduce Captain America, the cosmic cube and Agent Carter, nothing more nothing less, and it did a good job at that.

Captain America: The First Avenger is a relic in its old fashion style but a little messy when it comes to the editing of the action scenes, but it's still enjoyable. Marvel Studios and Joe Johnston really beats the awful 1990s version. The action could have been better but their flaws can be ignored. It's fun enough as a superhero movie.

Crazy. I am completely opposite of the rest of the comments. Fantastic character creation and one of the best origin stories they've done in the Marvel movies. Stanley Tucci was quite amazing. The avengers should be truly great!

Also, definitely not the "worst superhero movie". Go watch Ang Lee's Hulk (the first one) or, God forbid... Thor... /shudder

Seeing it for the second time and having seen every Marvel movie (with the exception of the latest Spiderman) since, I appreciate it more. It is so much more pure then the ones that came after that. And it is not suffocated by CGI. So I change my rating from 7 to 8.

The most I like Agent Carter! The film is such a typical popcorn entertainment.

stereotyped lines, stereotyped roles, stereotyped shit.
Everytime when there comes up a mood for the movie, it gets destroyed by this terrible quotes.

is there some reason to watch the movie? It's not a cheap movie, but the lines and the story are so regular, that you have ony two reasons to watch it:
a) hugo weaving
b) What happend before Avengers.

3/10 don't watch it.

cliché story, shallow characters, cheesy lines, a stereotypical superhero movie.

What a waste of time and money.

It starts decently but drags way too long for its little content. At least they spent enough time on the development of the main character for once. It's not easy to portrait Captain America in the 2010s without ending up looking ridiculous, and it was actually cool that they started him off as a cheesy fictional propaganda character before shaping him into an actual superhero. Just, nothing relevant happens afterward. The story is not interesting enough to make this worthwhile as a story-driven film, and action sequences are dull. I'm surprised no one mentioned the ridiculous CGI backgrounds that make the whole movie look like a cheap-ass music video more than a 3D sensation. I also hated their rendition of Howard Stark. They just tried to make him look and act like Tony so that they could have an interesting character but failed miserably.
