The problem with this movie is that it's almost exactly the same as the original and is therefore pointless. Even with the fact it took place in the modern era, it still felt like the same movie. Yes the effects were "better" but that doesn't make it more interesting. Chloe Grace Moretz didn't even bring anything new to the role other than being way too attractive to be believed as a pariah.

Sue drove/ran all the way to the hall, why couldn't she have just texted Tommy? Was a bit frustrating to watch towards the end. Prevented being a 7+ because ending made little sense, and was more enjoyable before the blood fell.

Another one for the unjustified remake pile. They didn't add anything significant except for a worse ending. That the shower scene got recorded with a mobile phone is about as current as they made it. The "new" jock bf still goes to kill a pig which doesn't even remotley fit with the times which is where they could have shown some creativity. All they aimed for was the climax which they didn't even try to hide from "newbies". And holy shit that CG blood in that scene was dreadful. Instead of showing repeats of that they could have payed tribute to the split screen imho. Also Chloe is unfortunatley a misscast as she just doesn't look the part.
You can still watch it but it's inferior and not much different from the original so there is really a reason to see this.

If you want to waste your time... Guess what? This is your perfect movie

I already knew that it would be very difficult to do something like Brian de Palma's original Carrie but I wanted to see it anyway because a film with Julianne Moore and the young and talented Chloe Grace Moretz is a sign of good stuff.

The two are great in their roles, Jualianne Moore as Carrie's crazy catholic mother and Chloe Grace Moretz did a great job playing Carrie but in my opinion it was not enough. She is too pretty, her look is too angelic and she can't transmit nothing like Sissy Spacek transmited when she played Carrie. So unfortunately I have to say that for me, for much good actress that Chloe is, she was not the best choice to play the part.

The worst part of the film it's the lack of the creepy atmosphere that the original has. And is much more of a drama, than horror.

Overall, not bad not good, just okay.

Definitely the worst of the three.

3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Carrie’:

1. Chloë was honestly a lot better than I was expecting. I watched this right after reading the novel for the first time and I thought she embodied Carrie incredibly well.

2. I opted to watch this “reimagining” after reading the novel because I heard it was closer to the book. I was disappointed to see that there was still a lot left out. In the book, she basically decimates the entire town of Chamberlain and they only touched upon that a little. But I’m guessing you’d probably need a much bigger budget and a lot more time.

3. My two least favorite moments: 1) Carrie “flying” and 2) the ending. I thought the pregnancy thing was a little ridiculous.

Much better than the original in my opinion (but then again the original scared me to death as a child!) I love Chloe Grace Moretz anyway, think she is a fab actress!

Wonderful cast and the special effects were really very good! However, this has nothing on the original. (Not sure any re-make could really beat it!) Chloe Moretz is one of my favourite actresses and she played Carrie well, though I'm not sure she was really the right choice for this character.

The problem with this movie is that the problem with the commenters are always the same, and therefore pointless. They all saying its similar to the remake, oh wow what an original though you had there?? 100+ people haven't said it before you?
lol I enjoyed this, wasnt the best movie out there, but as someone who hasn't seen the original, this is pretty good stuff.
