Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is a film made with honest intentions but the storytelling needed a bit more homework. Abhishek Kapoor tries to explore a taboo topic and sheds light on a vulnerable aspect of society. The screenplay is fast but isn't very exciting. The struggles of a trans are shown only from the surface level which is unconvincing. The storytelling could have been more focused rather most of the time is gone giving screen time to Ayushmaan's chiseled body he has worked on. Not that to demean his efforts but that wasn't necessary to show as much it's shown here. The intentions of the film are honest and should be watched by all to understand the section of our society. Ayushmaan is Ayushmaan, nothing extraordinary but Vaani seems to make an effort in her performance which is praiseworthy. A one-time watch for sure.
