This one has really grown on me over the years. Damn good Stephen King movie. It's a blast. Keith Gordon brings it down a bit with his goofy hamming it up, but it's quite entertaining.

Decent killer car movie. Not Carpenter or King's best stuff, but it's still fairly entertaining. It's funny seeing Keith Gordon transforming into this bad ass. It's less intimidating and more frustrating.

I haven't seen this in decades and I still love it. The book also stands as an all time favorite. Watch it. Then read it.

The film is about sex. Everyone wants to fuck Arnie - the mother, the friend and the rebels. And he just wants to have sex with his girlfriend who doesn't want him. In the end, the car remains. Sounds like a happy ending to me.

The first half is a drag but the pace picks up once the revenge plan kicks off.

“Christine” is an extremely lukewarm horror flick, but at the same time a well-paced, fairly entertaining teen adventure. Definitely not an easy concept to pull off without looking totally ridiculous. The fun is all condensed in the middle, with the gas station scenes being the absolute climax. Unfortunately, things get slightly duller afterward.

Carpenter condemns materialism again, and makes the clear statement that you have to become an asshole if you want to be popular at school.

This was much more entertaining than I was expecting it to be, not exactly scary but a good thriller.

"Her name's Christine."

"I like that."

'Christine', like most Carpenter movies is an under-appreciated thrill ride with a twisted sense of humor. Solid performances, excellent score and John Carpenter can make any movie stylistic despite the absurd concept.

However, I wish Harry Dean Stanton had more to do.

Classic horror. Interesting characters. Cool descent into madness from the main character.

From John Carpenter comes the frightening horror classic Christine. Based on a Stephen King novel, the story follows a teenager who buys and rebuilds a broken down ‘58 Plymouth Fury named “Christine” that has a nefarious history, and it soon starts to work its will on its new owner. Carpenter’s directing is especially good, particular in how he makes the car a character and gives it personality. And the soundtrack and score do an incredible job at setting a lighthearted but sinister tone for the film. Though it’s a little campy at times, Christine is entertaining and delivers some fun scares.

Acceptable adaptation of the Stephen King novel, slimmed down to tell the story of a high school loser who becomes dangerously obsessed with a demon car.

Holy shit, that's one hell of a ride. I can't believe I hadn't seen this until now. I'm in love! It's about an evil car that kills people and the car owner spirals into madness. The fact that the car has personality and is actually terrifying is so unreal. John Carpenter has the talent turning silly concept into something special. I really dig his style in this one and the score really hits the right beats making it more enjoyable. The characters are questionable at first but I end up caring about them.

Heard a decent amount going into this movie. I had semi-high hopes and to be honest, I'd say they were met. Nothing blew me away during the film to be frank. Acting was solid and so was the music. I'd give it a 7/10

How do you make a lame idea like a killer car work in a horror movie? John Carpenter responds, "Hold my beer."

A movie I had only seen bits and pieces of as a kid, I remember it being one of my mother’s favorites but as a young kid it didn’t click with me. Now that I’ve finally given it a proper watch, I can fully appreciate it. The movie starts out with some typical high school nerd cliches mixed in with the classic over the top evil Stephen King bullies and you wonder if Carpenter is going to make this evil, killer car story work. And of course he does, the movie has the Carpenter energy all the way through it and he sells you on the love story between a boy and his car. Once Christine is chasing a guy down the street on fire, you’re moshin
